Paris is by far one of the most popular tourist destinations in Europe. It’s such a magical city and the Eiffel Tower is something everyone hopes to see at least once in their lifetime. What could possibly make each of those things more special? An incredible sunrise. There are tons of places with great views in the city but this is the absolute best spot to watch the sunrise (or sunset) in Paris, France.

Trocadero Square (Place du Trocadero) is hands down the best place for a view of the Eiffel Tower. This also makes it one of the best places to watch the sunrise in Paris. Who doesn’t love a good sunrise, right? Especially with a view of the Eiffel Tower as well!

One of my favorite things about watching the sunrise at Trocadero Square is that before the sun came up we basically had the entire place to ourselves. There really was no one else in sight except for a man sweeping the stairs and a whole bunch of pigeons! It was so nice being able to enjoy a quiet moment in the hustle and bustle of Paris.

Once the sun comes out you’re sure to see plenty of photographers at Trocadero Square. Some are photographing couples or friends and some just shooting the Eiffel Tower in the beautiful morning light.

Paris, France Travel Tips

  • Wear comfortable shoes in Paris. I had heels on for some of our photos but I had stashed a pair of flats in my bag for later. We did a lot of walking in Paris. Comfy shoes were a must!
  • Paris is expensive. A quick and easy way to save some money is to buy foods from a local grocery store rather than eating out at restaurants for every meal. Paris is the perfect place for a cute picnic after all!
  • Visit popular attractions early in the mornings to avoid the crowds. This is true for most places in the world but especially in Paris!
  • The locals really appreciate when you at least try to learn a few words in French. Even if it’s just the basics like ‘bonjour’ (hello) and ‘merci’ (thank you).
