The Best Airbnb’s I’ve Stayed In

It’s no secret that I would prefer an Airbnb over a hotel any day. They make your whole travel experience so much better. Airbnb’s “Don’t go there. Live there.” slogan was spot on. Staying in a home rather than a hotel room really helps you experience the destination so much better. But these are some of the absolute best Airbnb’s I have ever stayed in!

The Best Airbnb’s I’ve Stayed in Around the World

Little Owl Cabin – Packwood, Washington

If you’re looking for the best Airbnb to spend your Christmas, this is it. We stayed here during the holidays last year and it was one of the best Christmases we’ve ever had. We had been in Florida for the last couple of years so we decided we wanted to go somewhere that was actually cold for the holidays. It even snowed on Christmas morning!

It’s kind of in the middle of nowhere and I wouldn’t suggest coming here in the winter unless you’ve got 4-wheel drive! The roads on the way here weren’t the best and the snow didn’t help at all. However, once you make it there, it’s totally worth it. It seems like it’s on a busy street (lots of neighbors) but as soon as you go up the driveway you don’t notice any of it. It feels totally secluded and even has a river flowing just past the back yard! Oh, and did I mention it has a hot tub?!

We put up our stockings and a little tree to make it feel even more like home ♥️

The cabin is just a short drive from a small town where there is a little grocery store and a gas station as well as a few other local shops. If you drive into town in the evening, you’re likely to see a bunch of elk roaming the streets – so cool! There is also a ski resort about 20 minutes away where we went tubing on Christmas Day. I really couldn’t have pictured a better place to spend Christmas.

Heaven of Wood and Stone in Historic Kolonos – Athens, Greece

This was actually one of the first Airbnb’s that I ever stayed in and it’s the one that got me hooked! This place was heaven and I would move in if I could. It has the signature white stone walls and the bright blue door as you will see all over Greece, especially on the islands!

It was so cozy here. Just big enough for the two of us, but it really felt like home. The kitchen had everything we needed, the bathroom was insanely beautiful with all of the tiles and stained glass, the hosts were two of the sweetest people I’ve ever talked to, and the home was just a short walk from the metro. I’ve been dying to come back to this one since the day we left! Definitely one of the best Airbnb’s in Athens.

Havana Retreat – Cannonvale, QLD, Australia

We stayed here when we visited the Whitsundays. The host was so friendly. She even waited at the home so she could greet us when we arrived, but unfortunately, our airport transfer was running super late so we never actually got the chance to meet her. Bummer! She knew we were staying here for our honeymoon and she left a welcome basket with a bottle of wine and chocolates for us! It was such a sweet touch.

There are three things that I absolutely LOVED about this Airbnb.

  1. There were bicycles available for us to use. We used them our whole stay. I can’t even tell you how many times we rode down the street to stop at a restaurant or a grocery store. Saved us so much money by not having to pay for taxis!
  2. The whole place was so light and airy, and stepping out onto the front porch was like walking into a jungle paradise. Gorgeous birds flying around and beautiful flowers everywhere.
  3. There was a grill out front on the porch. Gave us the perfect chance to throw some “shrimp on the barbie” while in Australia! 😅 (I know, I know. I’m sorry, haha!) Seriously, though. My husband was cooking for us every night!

If you’re planning a trip to the Whitsundays, this one is a little farther away from everything but that’s honestly what we loved about it the most. It was still just close enough to everything that we never had to worry. It’s a short walk to Cannonvale Beach and Abell Point Marina, and we just used the bikes for everything else. This has to be one of the best Airbnb’s in Australia, for sure. 😉

Lovely Loft Style Apartment – Moscow, Russia

This is another great Airbnb that felt like true luxury. The heated marble floors, velvet furniture, the balcony, the grand piano! It was a short walk to the metro as well as many shops and restaurants, but we usually still took an Uber everywhere just because we were there in the dead of winter and it was freezing outside. I loved everything about this little apartment and the host was so nice and helpful.

This Airbnb was perfect for our stay in Hanoi. The room was so cozy and the rooftop and balcony were the perfect additions. We loved being able to sit at the bar on the rooftop with views of the city below. And, the bathtub was the perfect spot to relax at the end of the night. This is one of the best Airbnb’s we found in Vietnam and we will definitely stay here again the next time we’re in Hanoi!

Historic Paddington Cottage – Sydney, Australia

We stayed here for part of our honeymoon in Sydney. This home is so charming and the bedroom doors even open up to its own private courtyard patio. Perfect place to relax and have a glass of wine at the end of the day!

This home was just a short walk to many restaurants, pubs, a convenience store, and a bus stop! Tons of little boutiques to shop at right down the street as well. Super convenient!

Le Riad Yasmine – Marrakech, Morocco

Quite possibly the best Airbnb I have ever stayed in. I felt like royalty staying here! We were welcomed and poured a cup of mint tea as soon as we arrived. Our room (we stayed in the Merzouga Suite) was so gorgeous and walked right out onto the balcony overlooking the pool. They served a freshly made breakfast on the rooftop just after sunrise and it’s a meal that I still think about years later!

Many people may recognize Le Riad Yasmine because of its iconic pool. The green and white tiles, the trees and plants, the mural painted on the wall. True paradise. And to top it off, there’s an adorable kitten named Bowie that lives here and often will come visit you by the pool.

These airbnbs! Oh my word, they’re stunning. How did you find them? The Morroco one is my favourite I think. I love a balcony and being greeted with hot herbal sounds lovely after a long trip. Gorge pictures, too 🙂 x

Wow all of these are so beautiful! I especially loved the Packwood, Washington one since I grew up in the forest of Washington very similar to that. And Airbnb seems like such a great way to explore new cities, doesn’t it? Great post!

Thank you! Airbnb’s are the best. The A-Frame in Washington was gorgeous. I would love to have a mountain home like that someday!
