Five Reasons You Should Plan a Trip to Australia

When you think of Australia, chances are you think of kangaroos, amazing beaches, and the Outback. Well, you’ll definitely find all of those here but there is so much more to Australia than just that. Here are five reasons you should plan a trip to Australia for your next vacation!

It’s the Perfect Romantic Getaway

Head down to Sydney for a sunset harbour cruise, cuddle some koala bears together at the zoo, check out some wineries in Adelaide, or head to the Whitsundays for a relaxing weekend on the beach. There are so many places in Australia that are perfect for traveling couples.

See the Great Barrier Reef Before it Dies

Snorkeling the Great Barrier Reef had been on my bucket list for so long and we finally made it happen on our trip to Australia for our honeymoon. It was definitely a once in a lifetime kind of experience. The Great Barrier Reef stretches for more than 1,000 miles off the east coast of Australia. Unfortunately, the reef is dying because of extreme temperature changes in the ocean water. More than half of the Great Barrier Reef is already dead or badly damaged and it is estimated that it will never fully recover.

The Food is Great

I don’t think there was a single meal in Australia that we didn’t like. The breakfast bowls are delicious and the beach barbecues are like nowhere else in the world. Make sure you try some Tim Tams and Vegemite when you’re here!

Some of the Best Beaches in the World

I have been to many beaches in my life but the ones I’ve visited in Australia are pretty hard to beat. Whitehaven Beach in the Whitsundays just might be the most beautiful beach I have ever been to. It has perfect white sands, crystal clear blue waters, and very few tourists in sight.

Beaches worth visiting in Australia:

  • Bondi Beach
  • Whitehaven Beach
  • Byron Bay
  • Wineglass Bay
  • Burleigh Heads
  • 75 Mile Beach

The People Are Amazing

The people that we met in Australia were some of the nicest people we’ve ever met in our lives. Australians are known for their laid-back attitude and love of the great outdoors making them some of the easiest people in the world to get along with. We were able to attend a few barbecues on the beach with locals and they were definitely the highlights of our trip to Australia. Even our Airbnb hosts went above and beyond to make sure our stay was perfect.

The Best Places to Visit in Australia

So now you know why you should visit Australia but where to go once you’re there? These are some of my all-time favorite spots in Australia!

  • The Whitsunday Islands
  • Bondi Beach
  • Twelve Apostles
  • Uluru
  • Great Ocean Road
  • The Great Barrier Reef
  • Sydney Opera House
  • Blue Mountains National Park
  • Luna Park
  • Kangaroo Island
