The Best Views in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

Pittsburgh is such a beautiful city with so much to see. It has one of the most incredible skylines, with its hundreds of bridges throughout the city. This is a list of all the best spots to go for some of the best views in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

The Best Views in Pittsburgh, PA

Duquesne Incline

The Duquesne Incline is not the only incline in Pittsburgh but it’s most people’s favorite, and this view is one of the reasons. Plus, you can get a round trip ticket (up and back) for just $5! Just keep in mind it must be cash and you’ll need to have the exact change. The cars move up and downhill very slowly so you are able to enjoy views of downtown Pittsburgh the whole trip. Not going to lie, the wooden cars seem pretty wobbly at times and might make you a bit nervous if you don’t like heights!

Once you make it to the top you’ll walk through what is basically a mini museum explaining the history of the cable cars (which date back to the 1800s!) and out onto the observation deck. From here you get an amazing view of downtown Pittsburgh where you can see Heinz Field, PNC Park, and Three Points Park (where the rivers meet).

Bonus Fact: did you know that Pittsburgh has over 400 bridges? That’s more than almost any other city in the world! See how many you can count from up here, we saw quite a few!

PNC Park

I honestly think PNC Park may have the best view in all of Pittsburgh. From here you can see the river, the iconic yellow bridges, Heinz Field, and of course, a baseball game. Can’t beat that!

Three Points Park

Three Points Park, also known as Point State Park, is a popular spot for joggers, lunch breakers, and of course tourists like you and me. You can see the Duquesne Incline from here as well as Fort Pitt Bridge, PNC Park, and Heinz Field. The main feature of this park is surprisingly not the huge water fountain, but the fact that you can actually see where the three rivers meet. It’s quite unique as you can tell the differences in the color of the water!

West End Overlook

West End Overlook is just a short drive from the Duquesne Incline, with a similar view of the city, but with far less people in the way. I’d recommend coming here instead of the Incline if you’re not a fan of crowds. Many people come here to lounge in the grass and even have picnics!
