Our Stay at the Alsisar Haveli in Jaipur, India

Jaipur was the last stop of our India trip and we really wanted to stay somewhere we could truly relax, especially after dealing with the hustle and bustle of Delhi for the last week. As soon as I stumbled across the Alsisar Haveli online, I knew it was the place. Here’s everything you need to know for your stay at the Alsisar Haveli in Jaipur, India.

About the Alsisar Haveli

The Alsisar Haveli was once home to a royal family. It’s an old palace right in the middle of the city that was built in 1892 and converted into a heritage hotel in 1994. Even though it’s located right off a very busy road, the Alsisar Haveli is total peace and quiet (which is quite rare in India). It’s a very nice (and much needed) escape from the hustle and bustle of the city.

As soon as you arrive you are welcomed by traditionally dressed staff members and once you are checked in, escorted to your room. You don’t realize how huge this place is until you start walking through all of the different rooms and up the many different staircases. In the evenings, you’re able to enjoy puppet shows, folk dances, and other forms of entertainment in the main courtyard next to the pool. And, the rooftop is an excellent spot to watch the sunset at the end of the day.

Our Room

Alsisar Haveli provided everything we could have possibly needed during our stay. Literally, we even had a sewing kit that we ended up needing! Bottled water was provided, along with all necessary (and unnecessary) bathroom toiletries. Our room was so spacious and comfortable. And, it seemed to be fairly quiet at night even though it’s located right in the middle of town, which is always a major plus.

The Pool

It was a bit chilly for us to actually go for a swim while we were here but the pool was still a great place to go lounge at the end of the day. It’s located right next to the main courtyard and surrounded by gorgeous, lush, greenery. A piece of paradise right in the middle of Jaipur. And, full of amazing photo opportunities!

The Dining Room

One of our best (and favorite) meals in Jaipur was at the Alsisar Haveli. To this day, I still dream of the garlic naan (yum!) and the chicken tikka. The waitstaff were all extremely friendly and accommodating. The dining room was absolutely gorgeous. Tables are filled with fresh flowers, there are large crystal chandeliers hanging from the high ceilings, and detailed paintings of the royal families hang from the walls. I definitely felt like royalty dining here.

Location

Alsisar Haveli is located right at the heart of the pink city and all of the major attractions in Jaipur are very easily accessible. This is how far each attraction is located from the Haveli:

  • Hawa Mahal – 1.6 miles
  • Amber Fort – 6.5 miles
  • Gatore Ki Chhatriyan – 2.7 miles
  • The Patrika Gate – 7.2 miles
  • City Palace – 1.6 miles
  • Albert Hall Museum – 2.4 miles

After our stay at the Alsisar Haveli I can honestly say that I don’t believe you’ll find a better accommodation in Jaipur (especially for the price). It was a great break from the city and the location was easily accessible from everything we wanted to see. For more info or to book a room, click here.
