The Best Sweets & Snacks to Try in South Korea

The Best Sweets and Snacks to Try in South Korea - Lost With Jen

There are so many great sweets and snacks to try in South Korea. It’s a foodie’s paradise after all! But, these are all of the most popular ones as well as some of my favorites.

Snacks to Try in South Korea

Mini Snow Mochi

Mini Snow Mochis, an Asian dessert.

Snow mochi, or ice mochi, is like a little ball of ice cream with a fruity or chocolatey center, wrapped in a rice dough (I’m horrible at describing it but I promise it’s delicious). This is one of the best snacks to try in South Korea and you can get them at any Baskin-Robbins. My favorite is blueberry or banana!

Egg Cookies

Egg Cookies, a great Korean snack.

I’ll admit, an egg cookie sounded a bit strange to me at first, but they’re absolutely delicious. And, they taste nothing like egg. Haha! It’s just a sweet cookie that kind of tastes like a vanilla wafer. Makes for a great snack!

Pocky Sticks

Pocky is a cookie/pretzel type stick covered in what I believe is a type of yogurt-y icing. There are so many different flavors to choose from but I love the strawberry or blueberry best!

Banana Milk

Picture chocolate milk.. but banana. Flavored milk is really popular in South Korea. Banana, strawberry, coffee, chocolate, you name it. But banana is my favorite and it goes great with some chocolates!

ABC Chocolates

ABC chocolate candies.

Speaking of chocolates.. these have become my absolute favorite snack. Like, ever. I pick some up every time I stop at a convenience store. It’s like a really light, crispy, chocolate cookie covered in some of the most delicious fudge. If you’re a chocolate person you’ll love these!

Tiramisu Candies

I never knew I needed a candy version of tiramisu until I tried these. They’re light, crispy, and taste just like tiramisu.

Milkis

Milkis is a milk soda. Yes, you read that right. A milk soda. To be completely honest, I still haven’t been able to bring myself to actually try one. The thought of a milk soda kind of makes me cringe, really. But, it’s a super popular drink here so it can’t be that bad, right? If you’ve ever tried one, let me know how it was!

Cherry Blossom Popcorn

Nothing screams Asia quite like cherry blossoms so why not try some cherry blossom snacks!? Snacks like these are mostly popular around the time of cherry blossom season. If you visit in the spring, you’re likely to find tons of great options!

Honey Butter Chips

Honey butter is a very popular flavor in Korea, especially for chips. If you’re wanting a (slightly) healthier option they also have honey butter almonds. You can find these in just about any convenience store in South Korea.

Jellies & Gummies

Gummy Jelly, a great Asian sweet.

Jelly candies and gummies are super popular in South Korea and you can find them just about anywhere. My favorites are the grape and banana ones. I’ve never seen a place with so many different banana flavored snacks as in South Korea!

I’ve had Milkis!! I’m actually not a fan of soda (or anything carbonated) in general but it’s really good! :] I love Asian snacks/candies – definitely hoping to go to South Korea someday to try everything! 😛
